Our 2nd Visitors

From the first time I told my friends the sad but exciting news of my families plan move to Oregon they instantly started planning a trip to come see us in our new home.  Originally they were suppose to come in January but with my father's passing the plans quickly changed.  So after a re-schedule they headed west at the end of February and stayed until the beginning of March.
Day One:
We started out our day with what we thought would be a trip to the water falls.  As we were 12 miles away and on top of the mountain we hit a blizzard.  We saw a van that had ran off the road and decided to turn around.  We passed outlet stores on the way so we choose to stop there and walk around, have some lunch and goof off.  We ended the night with eating at our favorite place-Roxy's Hawaiian.
Day Two:
Day two was wine tour day!  I had set up for all of us to take a wine tour, wine tasting and experience what the life of wine is really about here.  We started out at Dobbs tasting room which was a great baby step for my nervous friends.  lol.  Then we headed to Duck Pond for our tour, tasting and yummy snacks. After we were through their we headed to my favorite Sokol Blossor where we sat on the deck with a wonderful warm heater, laughed until we cried, took tons of pictures, and shared a yummy bottle of wine.  We ended our fun filled day with a stop at the local Cupcake store and had some coffee and cupcakes.  AH!
Day Three:
Since Marchal goes to school at 12:40 on Wednesdays it took pretty much most of our day so we decided to stay close to home base.  We headed to McMinnville(where we originally wanted to live) had the best pizza and shopped around.  After the girls finished fighting for Mr. Ben Franklin's attention we grabbed some coffee, headed home to grab some groceries for dinner and ended the night with a night by the fire with a game of "What if?" and alot of laughter of course followed by some serious conversations as well. It is so great to have amazing girlfriends.
Day Four:
Day by far was the best day of the week.  Marc took off and we allowed Marchal to take the day off from school so we could get alot of things in. We really wanted to take the girls to the water falls and the coast.  So with the crazy weather of snow and rain we or really I felt more comfortable with Marc driving us.  So we headed first to Silver Falls and it was as beautiful as ever.  We noticed we went a different way then the way we tried to go on Monday.  We were going up the other side of the mountain.  darn GPS.  lol.  But we made it and we actually only got to see one bc there was ice everywhere but it was the biggest one so that was cool.
then we headed to the coast to Newport Beach and see the amazing lighthouse.
As you can see we saw a rainbow on the way and had the best road goodies(gummy bears).
After the lighthouse we went to explore the beach.  We saw starfish, mussels, sea lions, etc.  Marc actually fell trying to get this picture and landed on his hinny and bruised it and thinks he broke his finger.  poor thing.
We ended the night at our local diner called Jem's. They have the best burgers in town and as you can see ice cream too.  What a great day!
Day Five (LAST DAY-Boo):

So we had been everywhere on our agenda but Carver Cafe and that is where we were headed. For those of you who don't know it is the place where Twilight had filmed a part of the movie. We luckily were able to sit in the very spot where Bella and her dad did.  We took in the atmosphere, signed the guest book and ate their yummy food.  As we were leaving we started talking to the owner and how the whole process worked and how she was even in a part of the movie.  Pretty cool.

Later that night we headed downtown to check out Art Walk.  Every month our town has this event were local artist and wine makers are in the stores where you can walk around and check them out.  It was so much fun to walk around and being girls.  After we were done we headed home to celebrate Marc's 40th birthday with our neighbors.
The next day sadly, we all had to get up and drive to the airport and let my lovey friends return to their families.  I so enjoyed having them here and can't wait until our 2012 girls trip.  So here's until next year.
