Summer Reading Kick-off

Our library knows how to get kids excited about reading.  Today they had a kick-off party for their summer reading program.  They had FREE ice cream, games, books, prizes, etc.  The kids picked up their reading logs and once they are turned in they get to drop them into a bag for a prize they want to win at the end of the summer.  They have grand prizes for the Oregon Aquarium, Safari Sams, Museums, Pizza and much more.  I am excited for them. 

They already have to rest for an hour everyday anyway so now they will have something to fill their minds instead of sleeping.  I even told the kids for each chapter book they finish( I will of course be helping Marchal) we will have a book party.  We did that once with Hannah when she finished her Judy Moody book and it was so much fun. 

Can't wait to see what adventures we will go on in the literal world.
