Hannah went to school today and came home with a wonderful surprise! She had started up a pen pal relationship with a child from China. And today she brought home her first letter!!!! She was originally told it was a boy but we are not sure now after getting the letter. It has girl stickers all over it but then again it may be that we don't think of boys in America putting girl stickers on anything. lol. She plans to write back and send a picture of herself and maybe we will get a picture back.
The letter told Hannah their likes, favorite hobbies and then asked her what hers was. She is excited to write back and forth and build a relationship hopefully throughout the years. Who knows maybe one day we will go there and they can meet. I have always wanted to walk on the Great Wall of China.
This summer we are going to look for a pen pal in Australia for both kids. They are excited. Here is the web site if you are interested in doing it with your own children.
