The night has finally arrived. Pumpkins were carved, apples were caramelized, Jack-o-lantern Pizza was baked, costumes on, candy bought, front porch covered in webs and spiders. Ready, Set, Trick or Treat. Making the kids wait until 6:30 to head out was so painful for them. Marchal kept asking me why did he have to get ready if we weren't going anywhere. He gets his patience from me so I understand his pain.
When the time had arrived we left Dad at home to pass out candy and we hit every house with their light on. The kids started arguing about who would ring the door bell and I had to say to them they would take turns. Once that was taken care of they both skipped down the sidewalk going from house to house.
We ran into a ton of kids that called out "Hannah" or "Marchal" we walked with some of them for awhile then we would part only to run into more friends. It was great to see how their faces light up seeing someone they knew. Esp., being a parent and worrying after making such a big move across the country. Making new friends sometimes can be hard. But it seems the Huchette kids are doing just fine. I met a few parents too and even had one dad tell me my daughter was very well mannered. I was so proud!
We trick or treated for two hours and I was freezing my tail off. We went to one house that even had hot apple cider and brownies for the parents. MY NEW FAVORITE NEIGHBORS-lol. How nice was that! After we finished with that street we headed home to see the treats they scored and really what treats us parents could steal. With Marchal being so picky it will be so easy to get some sugary sweets.
They were allowed two pieces of candy then had to get ready for bed. It was 8pm and we had to get up early to help with the school store the next day. Bedtime stories ended our super fun night. Momma even went to bed early.
