Operation Homefront-Oregon

Marc's company OIADA partnered with Operation Homefront Oregon this year to help raise money for our military families in need.  Being a veteran family this cause hit close to our hearts and we were excited to help and go to the fundraiser.  Many local businesses including Wal-Mart, Fred Meyer, Costco donated food for the event and other businesses donated items for a silent auction.

They asked Marc to be the special speaker for the evening.  To see him standing up there sharing his heart, military experience and challenging everyone there to support the families,to help the soldiers have some form of comfort knowing their families would be taken care of while they were away made me so proud of him.

The people stepped up and they made alot of money that night.  We found out that Fred Meyer put out change containers to take up extra change and raised an additional fifty eight thousand dollars.  It makes me want to shop there more.  Did you know that a high percentage of our military are on food stamps.  That to me is a shame and we can help with that.

Marc and I have also been lead to adopt a family this year and make sure they have what they need to have a very Merry Christmas.  If you want to learn more about this cause you can go to this link below;

You can look up the state where you live and adopt a family too.  Although we can never fully repay a soldier and their family for their sacrifice we can take a step to making their lives better.

After the dinner and auction were over it was time to listen and dance to some great music.  Hannah and Marchal were asked with some other kids there to hop on stage and help sing and play too.  They were on cloud nine.  We also found out we won an auction prize that was a year scholarship for horseback riding.  Woo Hoo.  We are going to ask if we can combine it for both kids for 6 months.   They were so excited they couldn't contain yourself.

As we left Marchal asked, "Dad can we do this again this year?" Of course we said YES!
